Visit a Rehearsal

Looking for a new hobby? Come and join Capital Chorus

New members are always welcome

Don’t be shy – we don’t bite! Capital Chorus has an open rehearsal policy, which means that anyone is welcome to come and listen at any rehearsal and talk to members during breaks.

You can just turn up, but we would prefer you to contact us first to ensure we will be rehearsing that night and that the format is suitable for a visit. See our Contact Points page.

What to expect

The weekly rehearsals involve exercises to develop vocal range and quality, learning new music, polishing repertoire, and practising visual performance. Previous singing experience is not necessary, but we do expect you to be able to sing in tune and to be able to hold a tune. Many of our members cannot read music, and this is not essential as online teach-tracks are available to help you learn your voice part. As soon as you choose to become a member you will be given access to the "Members Only" section of this website where all music parts can be downloaded in mp3 format. Don't worry, we will teach you the ins-and-outs of four-part harmony singing, step-by-step.

Above all, if you enjoy singing and would like to experience the thrill of performing and competing, Capital Chorus could be for you!
