Recently we at Capital Chorus competed in a couple of festivals. In fact they were two days running and had the same adjudicator.
Firstly we sang in the Watford Festival of Music, Speech and Drama in the lovely town of St Albans. We performed Cecilia and Can you feel the love. Both songs were very warmly received by the audience. The adjudicator's mark placed us in the Commended category.
The next day we sang in the Richmond Upon Thames Performing Arts Festival but this time instead of Cecilia we sang Always look on the bright side of life and then repeated Can you feel the love. Again both songs were very warmly received by the much larger audience. The same adjudicator awarded us a higher score than the previous day which placed us in the Honours category.
It all involved a lot of travel for most of the Chorus but we all felt it was well worth it and we plan to compete again next year.
As for the rest of this year we already have plans to compete in other festivals.
