No, most of our members do not read music. Although sheet music is available for each song in our repertoire, most members learn the songs by heart from "teach tapes" which are available for each part (lead, tenor, baritone and bass).

Yes, every member goes through an audition, however only after having sung with us for a few weeks. The audition is very basic: the most important thing is whether you can "carry a tune" and have a sense of harmony.

We ask that members take their membership seriously and attend as many as possible practice sessions (every Monday evening).

After having attended a number of practice evenings and after having passed the audition, you are required to become a full member which costs £12 per month. There are no other expenses, other than perhaps a contribution towards the cost of new shirts, waist coats, trousers, if and when it is decided to purchase new ones.
